چکیده

This Note reports on numerical simulations of the kinematic dynamo action in a test flow modeling the Von Kármán Sodium (VKS) experiment performed at CEA-Cadarache. We show that the conductivity of the vessel greatly influences the critical magnetic Reynolds number. These effects are dramatically amplified as the ratio of the conductivity of the vessel to that of the sodium increases from 1 to 5. Integral Equations for Kinematic Dynamo Models

2 S u m m a r y : A new technique for the treatment of the kinematic dynamo problem is presented. The method is applicable when the dynamo is surrounded by a medium of nite conductivity and is based on a reformulation of the induction equation and boundary conditions at innnity into an integral equation. We show that the integral operator ^ I involved here is compact in the case of homogeneous ...

Effect of Fatigue on Knee Kinematics During Countermovement Jumps in Female Students of Physical Education With Valgus Knee Deformity

Objectives: Skeletal-muscular disorders affect the biomechanics of the human body, especially the lower extremity, with a negative effect on the biomechanics of exercise. The main aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of fatigue on the kinematic variables of knee joints during countermovement jumps in female students of physical education with valgus knee deformity.  Methods: Fifte...

Dipole-quadrupole degeneracy in kinematic dynamo models with homogeneous conductivity

We discuss and prove dipole-quadrupole degeneracy in kinematic dynamos with homogeneous conductivity and certain very natural symmetry properties. In the case of 2-dynamos, symmetric and antisymmetric modes have the same conditions of excitation and the same real growth rates. For non-vanishing velocity field, i. e. 2!-dynamos (including a possible poloidal flow), symmetric and antisymmetric mo...

Simple laminar dynamos: from two rolls to one

The study of laminar flows with simple streamlines in conducting fluids that might support kinematic dynamo action has a long history. Early successful examples include the Gailitis (1970) dynamo, which has two meridional rolls. We show here that a single meridional roll, considered as a limit of a modified Gailitis-like dynamo, can also support kinematic dynamo action in a deep spherical shell...

The Axisymmetric Antidynamo Theorem Revisited

The axisymmetric kinematic dynamo problem is reconsidered and a number of open questions are answered. Apart from axisymmetry and smoothness of data and solution we deal with this problem under quite general conditions, i.e. we assume a compressible fluid of variable (in space and time) conductivity moving in an arbitrary (axisymmetric) domain. We prove unconditional, pointwise and exponential ...
